In 2016, a book that was claimed to have been written by Pickton titled Pickton: In his Own Words was released for sale. The publication and marketing of the book initiated controversy, critical petitions, and actions by government to stop Pickton from profiting from the work.

Allegedly, Pickton was able to get his manuscript out of prison by passing it to a former cellmate, who then sent it to a retired construction worker from California named Michael Chilldres. Chilldres then typed up the manuscript and is credited as the author of the 144-page book. Provincial Solicitor General Mike Morris and an online petition on Change.org each sought to remove the book from sale on Amazon.com. Premier Christy Clark expressed interest in introducing new legislation similar to existing laws in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, and Ontario that prevent criminals profiting from such books. Colorado publisher Outskirts Press ceased publication of the book and asked Amazon to remove it from their site after finding out that—although Chilldres’s name was on the book cover—the author was actually an incarcerated criminal.

There is a goodreads page for the book, otherwise there's not a lot of info on the web. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29056457-pickton

Robert Pickton Autobiography
Michael Chilldres is a retired California construction worker who became involved with the publication of "Pickton: In His Own Words," a book that was claimed to have been written by Robert Pickton, a convicted serial killer.
The book was published in 2016 and was initially available for sale on Amazon.
However, after the publisher, Outskirts Press, discovered that the author was an incarcerated criminal, they ceased publication and asked Amazon to remove the book.

Pickton, also known as "the pig farm killer," was convicted in 2007 of murdering six women and sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 25 years.
He confessed to killing a total of 49 women to an undercover police officer posing as a cellmate.

Chilldres received Pickton's handwritten manuscript from a cellmate and had it typed up before submitting it to Outskirts Press for publication.
He stated that Pickton would not profit from the book and that 10% of the proceeds were to be donated to charity.
However, a charity had not been selected yet, and Chilldres said he was happy to get his $2,500 back and make a couple of extra dollars.

The publication of the book initiated controversy, with government officials and the families of Pickton's victims expressing their disapproval.
As a result, the book was removed from sale on Amazon and other platforms.
